The director of information technology at the Centinela Valley Union High School District is under investigation for his alleged actions.
Teachers say Patrick Au used school district equipment to spy on them. Au was hired by Superintendent Jose Fernandez who has been placed on administrative leave.
One parent whose son goes to school in the district told KFI’s David Cruz that Au's alleged actions hurt teachers and students.
“There’s no way you could watch somebody over, you know? Especially on a hidden camera. I don’t think it’s right. It’s just invading their space.”
School officials say Au was hired full-time by Fernandez to run the district's cameras and computers.
